Blind Assessment
Massively rich and intricate, this wine has minty dark chocolate, sandalwood, vanilla, narcissus-like flowers, and a pungent hint of ripe mango in aroma and cup. It has sweetly brisk acidity and a full, syrupy mouthfeel. Flowers, chocolate, and mango ring on in a resonant, richly drying finish.
Notes
First planted by Don Enrique Vasquez, who is said to have brought the celebrated Geisha (also spelled Gesha) variety to Panama from Costa Rica in 1898, these trees grow on the slopes of Volcan de Baru in Boquete at elevations between 5,000 and 5,700 feet. With its generally elongated beans and distinctive floral and crisp, often chocolaty, cup, the Geisha variety continues to be the world's unique coffees.
Don Pepe Estate Coffee is a family farm that has been dedicated uninterruptedly to coffee cultivation since 1898. Thus, it is the first company specializing in the coffee industry in the Republic of Panama.
Nowadays, the farm can produce different exotic varieties of grains, which have managed to surprise and delight all kinds of palates, making Don Pepe Estate Coffee one of the best in the world.
Our farm is strategically located in the foothills of Volcán Barú, specifically in the area of Volcancito (Boquete, Chiriquí), at an altitude of 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level. We have 70 hectares of land: 59 for coffee cultivation and 11 for natural reserve (Volcan Baru Park).
The high quality that Don Pepe Estate Coffee achieves is undoubtedly due to its valuable human capital, which pays excellent care in every supply chain procedure. Thanks to our traceability system, we have complied with the highest export standards, which has allowed us to obtain essential acceptance in prestigious international markets such as Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

This process draws out the best possible flavor in each batch. Small batch roasting permits a higher quality of standards in coffee throughout the process, from choosing the correct charge & drop temperature to slowly roasting each small batch to perfection.
